Welcome to Chris Guin Creations, a showcase for my creative projects, some serious, some fun - including original musicals, stories, online games, and more. I make things because that's what I love to do, and I love sharing them. So I invite you to play a Flash game I've made, help me imagine and design my projects, or listen to a song. The project categories are listed to the left.
Musicals
Tell Me a Beautiful Lie - (Active) A full-length romantic musical set in the Crimea at the end of the Russian Civil War. Started in 2003 and still actively under development.
Minister's Child - (Shelved) A full-length biographical musical about Friedrich Nietzsche - the first musical I wrote, while in high school.
Games
RiftMaker - (Active) An attempt to recapture the golden age of Japanese RPGs, programmed in Flash. All music and graphics are original, although heavily influenced by the source material. Started in 2008 and still actively under development.
Narf's Sheep Hunt - (Finished) A brief point-and-click shooting game in Flash, replicating Duck Hunt for the original NES, and starring Narf. I wrote this before my senior year of college.
Stories
Tobias Unhinged - (Finished) A quirky short story I wrote while spending my semester abroad in England, about a boy who lives in a house with no doors.
L'innocent - (Finished) A short story about an American philanthropist abroad in Paris during the Franco-Prussian war.
Thank You, Mrs. Little - (Finished) A short story I wrote for my college fiction class, about a high school journalist and Southern school politics.
My Godmother Listened to NPR - (Finished) Another short story for my college fiction class. This story deals with a naive college freshman and his sophisticated, liberal godmother.
Music
Christian Songs - (Finished) A collection of Christian-themed songs written the summer after I graduated from Harding. The songs are sung by my friend Kyle Sapp.
The Great Train Race of Creeper Gulch - (Finished) These are songs I wrote for my computer science senior project - a Western/train themed board game.
Game Midis - (Shelved) In high school I wrote several midis for games that I never finished or never started, but I still find them enjoyable.
